In addition to these publication successes, the Head of the Division, Dr inż. Wojciech Kusa, has been accepted into the ELLIS network, becoming the second representative of NASK in this organization, following Sebastian Cygert.
ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) is a pan-European network of excellence focused on the development of artificial intelligence grounded in scientific research. It was established in response to the growing dominance of the United States and China in the field of AI, as well as the need to strengthen Europe’s position in this strategic area.
The organization brings together leading machine learning researchers across Europe, forming a network of over 40 research units in 17 countries. ELLIS runs scientific programs covering, among others, deep learning, computer vision, probabilistic modeling, AI in medicine, and climate analysis.
The mission of ELLIS is to advance high-quality fundamental research, support innovation, and educate new talent through the prestigious ELLIS PhD Program. The organization emphasizes the responsible development of technology in line with European values, offering an alternative to commercially dominated AI ecosystems outside Europe.
We congratulate Wojciech on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued success in developing new projects based on the experience gained and the collaborations established within ELLIS.
